1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern all content writing and related services provided by Words by Louise. By commissioning work, you (“the Client”) agree to these Terms.
2. Services Provided
I offer freelance content writing services, including but not limited to:
- Blog posts and articles
- Social media content
- Newsletters and guides
- SEO writing
- Copywriting
- Email newsletter writing
Parties will agree in writing on the scope of each project before work begins.
3. Quotes & Pricing
- All quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
- Pricing may be based on word count, project rate, hourly rate, or retainer agreement.
- I may charge extra for additional work outside the agreed scope, and we will discuss this before proceeding.
4. Payment Terms
- A 20–50% deposit is required for most projects, unless otherwise agreed.
- The remaining balance is due upon delivery of the final draft, unless otherwise agreed.
- Payment is accepted via bank transfer, PayPal, or other agreed methods.
- Late payments may incur interest at 1-2% per month in accordance with UK late payment legislation.
- Retainer agreements are billed monthly in advance and subject to separate agreed terms regarding scope and delivery schedule.
5. Revisions
- Each project includes 3 rounds of revisions within the original brief.
- Revisions requested due to changes in direction, tone, or scope may be billed separately.
- Revision requests must be made within 14 days of receiving the draft, unless otherwise agreed.
6. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Give clear instructions, background materials, and deadlines
- Respond to queries promptly
- Confirm that all information given is accurate and lawful
Delays in providing information may affect delivery time.
7. Deadlines and Delivery
- I will make every reasonable effort to meet agreed deadlines.
- If circumstances beyond my control affect delivery (e.g., illness, technical issues), I will inform you promptly and propose an amended timeline.
- Urgent or rush projects may incur additional fees.
8. Intellectual Property
- All intellectual property rights remain with me until full payment is received.
- Once paid in full, copyright transfers to you unless otherwise agreed (e.g. licensing arrangements).
- I reserve the right to showcase non-confidential, publicly published work in my portfolio unless you request otherwise in writing prior to project completion.
9. Confidentiality
I treat all client information, documents, and project materials as confidential. Confidentiality may only be broken if required by law.
10. Cancellations and Refunds
- If you cancel a project after work has begun, you will be invoiced for the portion completed.
- Deposits are non-refundable unless I am unable to complete the work.
- If I must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, I will refund any payments for work not yet completed.
11. Limitation of Liability
- I am not responsible for any losses, damages, or legal issues arising from your use of the content.
- You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and compliance of the final content.
- My liability, to the fullest extent permitted by law, is limited to the total amount paid for the project.
- While SEO best practices are applied, specific rankings or traffic results cannot be guaranteed.
12. Use of AI Tools
All content is original and written for you. AI tools may be used to support research or drafting, with all work fully edited and refined.
13. Governing Law
The Laws of Scotland govern these Terms. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Scotland.
